On July 5 in Ohio, a truck driven by Uzbek national Behzod Asrarov collided with a car, killing 21‑year‑old college footballer Tobias Forsyth.

The 42‑year‑old Asrarov had moved to the US in 2024 through the green card program. He held a CDL license to operate the truck but did not speak English, communicating with officers via Google Translate. After the crash, he hid the dashcam in his pocket, leading to charges of attempting to conceal or destroy evidence.

On July 10, Asrarov appeared in court with a translator. The judge released him conditionally, requiring him to wear an electronic monitoring device.

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be filed against the driver.
