Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the new building of the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino on August 11. This was reported by the press service of the President.
It is noted that earlier this educational place was located in buildings built in the 50-60s of the last century and scattered. There was also no clinic of its own. As part of the investment program, a new complex for the institute was built on the outskirts of the city and put into operation in may this year.
The complex included a 900-seat teaching building, a 200-seat clinic, a simulation learning center, a vivarium, a gymnasium, student dormitories with 1,200 seats, a cafeteria, and is as intact as world standards. A branch of the Institute of Immunology and Human Genomics of the Academy of Sciences has also been established.
Today, the institute trains specialists in 9 areas such as treatment, Pediatrics, dentistry, higher nursing, medical pedagogy, medical prevention, medical biology, folk medicine, pharmacy. They are taught lessons by 568 professors.
“This became a worthy Highness for the New Uzbekistan. Now he must serve our people with his knowledge. In our country there is a Medical Academy, specialized scientific centers, institutes in the regions. How does this scientific potential reach the people? To do this, it is necessary to attach them to the regions, create a healthy medico-social environment. Depending on the decrease in diseases in the responsible neighborhood, it is possible to give a premium to specialists. Figuratively speaking, from the point of view of prevention, it is necessary to “be an umbrella” over 36 million inhabitants,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The importance of establishing phytobars in the neighborhoods, promoting the advantage of healing herbs, and establishing a farmsanoate cluster in Bukhara was emphasized. It was here that the project for the development of the city of Bukhara was considered.
It was noted that in the historical part of Bukhara, it is necessary to improve the tourism infrastructure and expand the conditions for tourists. It is also planned that the western area of the Todakul reservoir will be transferred to the Bukhara region to establish recreational tourism.
"To say that we will make the economy of Bukhara stable, we need to increase tourism opportunities by 10 times. We just need to think about today, not a year, but the Future 50 years. If 10 million tourists come to the region, how much income will appear if people increase services,” said the head of state.
With this, the visit to the Bukhara region was completed, Shavkat Mirziyoyev returned to Tashkent.
