A traffic accident involving a Cobalt car driven by a minor occurred in the Termez district of the Surkhandarya region. As a result, the driver's classmate died, and the driver sustained serious injuries.
According to the regional Traffic Safety Department, the incident took place around 1:00 PM on October 9 on the 11th kilometer of the Termez City–Namuna–International Airport road.

Preliminary information indicates that the driver—a 10th-grade student born in 2010—was driving his mother's Cobalt car at high speed without a driver's license. He lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a lighting pole in the middle of the road. The impact caused the car to split in two. A classmate born in 2010, who was a passenger in the car, died at the scene, while the driver was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Additionally, a meeting was held with students and parents from three local schools to discuss issues concerning minors driving vehicles and road safety.
