In Tashkent, a Groom-to-Be Scammed His Bride and Sold Her House

A shocking case of fraud occurred in Tashkent — a man tricked his fiancée and her family, selling their house behind their backs.

According to a viral video circulating on social media, a woman named Jamila Olimboyeva shared how her fiancé, Shahzod Rismatov, deceived her. Rismatov reportedly convinced her and her family to transfer ownership of their home to blogger Sanjar Karimov, claiming it was a temporary arrangement for a financial deal.

Investigations revealed that Rismatov used the house as collateral for a loan and then arranged for the property to be sold under Karimov’s name. As a result, Olimboyeva’s family lost their home.

Karimov, on his part, stated that he legally purchased the property for $240,000, adding that all documents were legitimate and that he paid the amount in cash to the family.

However, prosecutors say Rismatov deliberately orchestrated the fraud to gain money illegally. After the sale, he fled the country, leaving his fiancée and her family homeless.

He was arrested in the UAE on April 30, 2025, and later extradited to Uzbekistan. Investigators also discovered his involvement in multiple other fraud cases. The case has now been transferred to court for trial.
