In Russia, there may be a restriction on the employment of migrants in certain areas. A new bill was drafted in this regard.
A bill was introduced into the State Duma prohibiting foreigners from working in medical institutions, pharmacies, schools and carrying out taxi and cargo transportation.
According to the authors of the document, the main influx of labor migrants is made up of people from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The authors of the project propose to limit the allowed share of foreign workers in all types of economic activity to 5%.
It is also envisaged to completely ban migrants from being involved in "areas where unskilled labor by foreign workers can do more harm than benefit". Among such areas are work in medical institutions and schools.
It is noted that the adoption of the bill will stop the increase in the number of migrants in these sectors of the economy, provide additional employment for Russian citizens.
