In Nagorno-Karabakh, the opening of a school built as a branch from Uzbekistan took place

On the second day of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Azerbaijan, Two Heads of state, along with their wives, visited Fuzuli and participated in the opening of a school built as a tribute from Uzbekistan.

A presidential press service report noted that in the past nearly 30 years, Fuzuli butkul had fallen into disrepair and become a “ghost town”. Up to the military action, it had a population of about 18,000. Life is slowly returning to the city after restoration work began in 2020. Housing is being built and social and transport infrastructure is being built.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his readiness to contribute to the restoration of Kohna monuments, cultural and educational sites in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Uzbekistan at an informal summit of the Turkic-speaking Cooperation Council in the form of a video conference in April 2021. ASADZHAN Khojaev, director of the AOKA under the Presidential Administration, said that Uzbekistan would build a school in Nagorno-Karabakh as a border.

The construction of a modern school for 960 students in Fuzuli became a practical expression of the Presidential Initiative. The leaders of the two countries, together with their wives, cut a festive ribbon and solemnly opened the school.

No. 1 school named after Mirzo Ulugbek has 40 classrooms, 6 laboratories, 2 Informatics rooms, 5 functional study rooms, assemblies and gyms, kitchen, library. A football field, places for recreation and events, treadmills have been established.

The presidents got acquainted with the educational buildings and the school area and talked sincerely with students, wishing them success in their studies.

The message says that the new school will serve to bring peoples closer, to introduce growing Azerbaijani boys and girls to the rich history and culture of Uzbekistan, the heritage of our great ancestors.

Then the heads of state visited the housing complex being built in the city of Fuzuli. The presidents met with the owners of the apartment in the complex. The head of State congratulated them on their new marriage.

During a sincere conversation, the people of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan spoke about their strong friendship and fraternal relations.

The leader of Uzbekistan expressed his satisfaction that life in Fuzuli is returning to a stable state, highly appreciated the work carried out under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev on the restoration and development of Karabakh, creating favorable conditions for the prosperous life of the population. Peace, tranquility and prosperity were expressed to the people of Azerbaijan.The heads of State entered the new apartments. The leaders then rose from a height to observe the effects of the destruction and the progress of construction. Shavkat Mirziyoyev was told about the plans for the restoration of Fuzuli.
