In Moscow, lawyer Yelena Ponomareva was attacked. On the afternoon of July 6, at one of the public transport stops on the Rublevsky highway, an unknown assailant sprayed him with “zelyonka” and beat him.” As a result of the attack, the lawyer received a bodily injury, the retina of his eye was damaged, " the lawyer of the Moscow Region said in a message. Ponomareva is a member of this chamber.

The message said that even before, several attacks were launched on Ponomareva, which was under the protection of the state. In particular, in front of the Lawyers ' Chamber of the Moscow region, Ponomareva's car was sprayed with paint, threats were sent to him through messengers with photos of relatives, property and dog. Ponomareva appealed to law enforcement agencies, but, as the bar noted, “it did not work, the guilty were not identified”.

It is noted that Ponomareva attributed the attack to a case he was considering. The Bar Council plans to approach the leadership of the Russian Investigative Committee with a request to organize an investigation into the attacks on the lawyer.

On July 4, “Novaya gazeta” journalist Yelena Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov were attacked in Chechnya. They were kicked, hit in the face, shot in the head with a gun and threatened with death. Milashina's fingers were broken, and her face was sprinkled with “zelyonka”.
