In Malaysia, men who do not attend Friday prayers are imprisoned

In the Malaysian state of Terengganu, men who do not attend Friday prayers without an excuse can be sentenced to up to 2 years in prison. These individuals are also subject to fines. According to the new resolution, men who did not attend Friday prayers 3 times in a row were imprisoned for 6 months. If this is repeated, it will be imprisoned for 2 years.
The law initially comes into force in Terengganu state.
