In the 2022-2023 academic year, the number of students in the cities and districts of the Khatlon region increased by more than 27 thousand people

In the Khatlon region, the authorities record a lack of places in educational institutions.

This problem was pointed out by the head of the education department of the region Ghazalshoh Safarzoda during a press conference.

"One of the main problems in the field of education in the Khatlon region is the increase in the number of students every year," he said.

Thus, in the 2022-2023 academic year, the number of students in the cities and districts of Khatlon increased by more than 27 thousand people.

In order to solve this problem, it is required to build at least 100 educational institutions annually.

According to him, in 2022-2023, 85 educational facilities were built and put into operation in the region, more than 13 thousand students will be able to study there in one shift. The construction of about 300 more schools is also ongoing.

Last academic year, more than 1.3 thousand educational institutions operated in the Khatlon region, in which more than 844 thousand students studied.
