In Kazakhstan, Uzbeks who kidnapped Indians were imprisoned

A criminal case was heard by the Kazibekbiy District Court of Karaganda, Kazakhstan against 5 Uzbek citizens convicted of kidnapping and rape (Section 1 of Article 125 (2) (1), Section 389 (3)) of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan.

In preliminary investigative actions, it was found that in the fall of last year, they made a criminal language in advance, kidnapped an Indian citizen and took him to Astana in a car, where he kept the debt in an apartment on condition of repayment.

During the judicial investigation, it was announced that on November 22, 2022, an Indian citizen applied to the law enforcement agencies of the city of Karaganda, and at Quick events, the police found material evidence in the house where the victim was kept.

At the hearing, it was found that a citizen of India borrowed a large amount from one of the citizens of Uzbekistan, but delayed payment, and then the citizens of Uzbekistan decided to kidnap the debtor in order to repay the debt. To this end, two of them were following the victim and kidnapped an Indian citizen during the day.

At the trial, the prosecutor requested that the accused be sentenced to 8 years in prison.

The defense side, however, denied the charge and requested that the defendants be acquitted.

The court sentenced the OECD, who was found to be the organizer of the kidnapping, to 8 years in prison and the rest to 7 years in prison due to the totality of criminal offenses.
