Fields in two districts of the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan were attacked by locusts.
It is reported that an insect swarm is destroying everything in its path, farmers are waiting for help from the state.
"This year, the situation with the harvest is difficult. The first reason is deer, now Grasshoppers, who trampled about 10,000 hectares of land. This year we planted 10,500 hectares of land, the rest was eaten by grasshoppers.
No one will help us in this problem, we turned to different organs. Yesterday came one aggregate, so that there are no necessary chemicals against Grasshoppers, and the plane does not have fuel.
We protected ourselves from deer, we could not wrap hay, now the Grasshoppers ate it. We do not know how to feed the mole in winter. We have about 200 heads of cattle on the farm, what should we do about it? I do not know where to approach this problem,” says the head of the farm.
On social networks, residents are posting footage from the fields. People are waiting for public outcry and response from local authorities.
According to the regional territorial inspection of kustanay, control of the appearance and spread of grasshoppers is carried out daily.
At the moment, all technical means are available, chemical cleaning is being carried out, measures are being taken to eliminate the risk of locusts spreading over large areas. Chemicals and equipment were said to be adequately supplied.
