Kazakhstan has adopted a law that completely bans the import, production and sale of electronic cigarettes (vapes). It carries a maximum sentence of 50 days in prison for selling vape, up to 2 years for importation and distribution, and up to 5 years in prison for a gang or in large quantities or repeatedly.

In the fall of 2022, the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan proposed to ban the sale of vapes in the country. This is due to increased consumption among teenagers and children.
