German police and customs officers searched a number of Russian properties in Munich and Tegernzee that fell under European sanctions due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Special Commission “Matryoshka”, created by the German customs authorities on sanctions, stated that the searches were carried out on the basis of a court decision. German authorities did not disclose the name of the Russian.

According to a Reuters source, we are talking about billionaire Alisher Usmanov. German publication Bild claims that police raided Usmanov's villa in Rottach-Egern, Bavaria, on the shores of Lake Tegernzee. Expensive items were taken from the House, including luxury cars such as the Mercedes Maybach S500.

“The behavior of German law enforcement agencies towards Alisher Usmanov arouses great admiration and shame,” the entrepreneur's press service said in a message. Usmanov's representatives deny that the searches were carried out on objects belonging to a billionaire. Usmanov does not have the right to control over the assets of the trust he founded at some point and “cannot know what is happening now to the property owned by the trust,” the press service said.

” The search conducted is like the next episode of intimidation and political harassment, " Usmanov added in the press service. They also saw that in the so-called “Matryoshka” of the German Customs Special Commission there was a “reference to the nationality” of the entrepreneur.

In September 2022, German law enforcement agencies searched 24 facilities affiliated with Alisher Usmanov. In particular, they were held in a villa on Tegernzee and on the yacht “charming”. During the searches, investigators confiscated documents and 30 cartins worth a total of five million euros. Later, the German court ruled the searches illegal, while Usmanov filed a lawsuit due to investigative actions carried out on the yacht “charming”.
