In January-August, more than 28.2 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan left for foreign countries in order to work.
It is noted that this is 7.5 percent more than last year. Almost three quarters of those who went abroad, or 20.45 thousand people, went to Russia as part of organizational recruitment.
The second and third places in the areas of interest were occupied by South Korea (3.18 thousand immigrants) and the United Kingdom (1.8 thousand). Next are Kazakhstan (812 people), Germany (387 people) and Turkey (194 people).
More than 2 million of Uzbekistan's population is working in various fields in other countries. In particular, the most — from 1.5 million Uzbek immigrants work in Russia. In 2022, about 60,000 Uzbeks went to work in other countries.
The country received $ 790 million in migrant transfers in 2000, compared to $ 8 billion in 2022.
