In Dushanbe, the use of electric scooters and mopeds has been banned until 2030

The capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, has temporarily banned the use of electric scooters, e-scooters, and other personal mobility devices until 2030. The decision was made by the City Council of People’s Deputies.

According to official information, the restriction was introduced to:

🔹 reduce road traffic accidents;
🔹 prevent interference with cars and pedestrians;
🔹 ensure the safety of all road users.

Electric scooters and mopeds may only be used in specially designated areas.
The ban will remain in force until a safe infrastructure is established.
Residents — especially parents — are advised not to leave children unsupervised and to refrain from using the prohibited vehicles.
