In Baku, as a result of a collision between a car and an electric locomotive, one person died and one was injured.

This was reported to Report by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

It was noted that on August 2, at about 23:20, a Hyundai Elantra car with the state registration plate 77-FV-520 tried to cross the railway crossing at the Gala-Bina stage, along which an electric locomotive was moving.

Despite emergency braking by the driver, the collision was inevitable due to the short braking distance. The driver of the car died in an ambulance, the passenger was taken to hospital with injuries of varying severity.

"ARW once again urges drivers of vehicles to strictly comply with the requirements of Article 44 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Road Traffic, to exercise increased vigilance when approaching railway crossings and to continue moving after being completely sure that the crossing is free," the ARW said in a statement.

It should be noted that as a result of a gross violation by drivers of the requirements of the law "On Road Traffic" this year, 18 accidents occurred at crossings, 6 people were injured, 3 people died. During the same period last year, 12 incidents occurred at railway crossings, 4 people were injured, one died.
