Illegal Hindi-language advertisement removed in Tashkent

A video circulated on social media showing a billboard in Hindi installed near the Tashkent State Medical University. Following the video, the Tashkent city administration conducted an inspection and stated that the sign had been installed without the required permits and in violation of the laws “On the State Language” and “On Advertising.” According to the law, advertisements must be in the state language. The illegal sign was dismantled in accordance with regulations.

For reference, according to the National Statistics Committee, more than 33,000 foreign citizens came to Uzbekistan for study purposes between January and October 2025. Over 14,000 of them were citizens of India and more than 8,000 were from Turkmenistan.
