Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony of a school in Khirdalan

Its project was prepared and successfully implemented according to the instructions of the head of state, taking into account the density of students in educational institutions in the city of Khirdalan.
BAKU, September 12 - Sputnik. Today, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening of the new building of secondary school number 11 in the city of Khirdalan, AZERTAC reports.
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev informed the head of state about the conditions created at the school for two thousand student places.
Its project was prepared and successfully implemented according to the instructions of the head of state, taking into account the density of students in educational institutions in the city.
Construction of the school building began in February 2021 and was completed in September this year. The functional building, equipped with the most modern equipment, has all the conditions for organizing quality education. The new school has 74 classrooms, 6 computer science classrooms, 2 preschool classrooms, a STEAM center consisting of 8 rooms, 2 gyms, 2 labor training classrooms, military training classrooms, foreign language, music, drawing, physics and biology classrooms, a chemical laboratory, a first-aid post, a library, a dining room and an assembly hall for 400 people.
Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the conditions created in the classrooms of preschool training, primary classes, biology, pre-conscription military training, STEAM center, physics and computer science classrooms, chemical laboratory, gym and canteen of the new educational institution.
The STEAM project has been applied in Azerbaijani schools since the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year at the initiative of First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. STEAM education, along with instilling in students through practical activities the ability to apply scientific and technical knowledge in everyday life, teaches them engineering skills.
The STEAM center of this school is also equipped with electronic boards, computers, 3D printers, related learning devices, electronic components and office supplies. There is also an engineering workshop, an area for young children, classrooms and a robotics lab.
