The President of Azerbaijan congratulated his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the national holiday of Uzbekistan - Independence Day.

The head of state, on behalf of himself and on behalf of the Azerbaijani people, conveyed the most sincere congratulations and good wishes to the leader of Uzbekistan and the entire Uzbek people.
“Today, thanks to your leadership and far-sighted policy, Uzbekistan, while remaining committed to the traditions and principles of statehood, is confidently moving forward along the path of socio-economic progress. We are especially happy that we are witnessing the important achievements of your country under your leadership, the "The active role and position of Uzbekistan in the processes taking place in the region allow the country to hold meetings and summits of the most prestigious international organizations at a high level," Ilham Aliyev said.
The head of state stressed that an open and active political dialogue between the two countries, mutual visits at the highest level, regular meetings, numerous documents signed, successfully implemented joint projects, including the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission, determine the positive dynamics of cooperation and play an important role in determining new areas of partnership.
In his message, the President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that they would continue to make efforts towards further strengthening bilateral interstate relations, developing priority areas of cooperation, continuing and expanding successful joint activities within international organizations, in particular, the Organization of Turkic States.
