Iguazu Falls — one of nature’s greatest wonders

Iguazu Falls (Portuguese: Cataratas do Iguaçu) is one of South America’s most famous natural landmarks, located on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The waterfall complex is considered one of the largest and most beautiful in the world.

General information

Iguazu Falls consists of more than 275 individual waterfalls surrounded by lush tropical rainforest. The entire system stretches about 2.7 km wide, and the immense volume and power of water create a breathtaking spectacle for visitors.

The most iconic section is Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo) — the tallest and most powerful waterfall in the complex. Here, massive streams plunge into a deep gorge, often forming stunning rainbows.

Unique natural environment

The waterfalls lie within Iguaçu National Park and Iguazú National Park. These protected areas are renowned for their biodiversity, hosting hundreds of bird species, butterflies, monkeys, and other tropical wildlife.

The region is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its ecological importance.

Signature experience — sunrise at the falls

One of the most popular activities is “Amanhecer nas Cataratas” (Sunrise at the Falls). This exclusive program takes place before the park opens, allowing visitors to experience the waterfalls in a peaceful atmosphere.

During the tour, visitors can:

  • enjoy the falls without crowds

  • witness unique sunrise colors and mist effects

  • take photos in calm conditions

  • immerse themselves in natural sounds and scenery

This experience is considered one of the most romantic and unforgettable moments at Iguazu Falls.
