"I will personally control" - Saida Mirziyoyeva takes control of Tashkent roads

In accordance with the presidential decree, work has begun to modernize the transport system in Tashkent. This was announced by the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva.
The specially created Center for Traffic Management held a presentation on February 27 on reducing traffic jams, improving the environmental situation and strengthening public transport control. In the coming days, work will begin on installing “smart” traffic lights, updating road markings on a standard basis and regulating parking lots. Saida Mirziyoyeva said that she will personally supervise the implementation of the project.

According to the decree signed on December 5, 2025, a new model of traffic management will be introduced in the capital. An intelligent transport system will be launched, connecting all cameras, traffic lights and traffic flow to a single platform.
By 2030, it is planned to increase the share of public transport to 60 percent, the share of electric buses to 50 percent, build 700 "smart" intersections, expand the metro network by 103 km, and repair 1,000 km of roads. A special fund has also been established for road transport infrastructure.
