Reports circulated on social media regarding students of Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU) being evicted from a dormitory. The university has issued an official statement regarding the situation.
It has been reported that the dormitory, built within the Student Campus under a public-private partnership, has not yet been officially commissioned. Its cadastral documents and necessary permits have not been finalized.
Furthermore, some students had been accommodated in the dormitory without the proper authorization required by the entrepreneur. Students from other higher education institutions and international students were also residing there.
Once the situation came to light, the students were moved out of the dormitory to ensure their safety and temporarily accommodated in vacant TSTU student housing. Students from other institutions were returned to their respective universities. Additionally, the dormitory's hot water and heating systems were not yet fully operational. The entrepreneur has fully refunded the payments previously collected from the students.
Work is currently underway to finalize the facility's cadastral documents and obtain the necessary permits. Once all requirements are met, the dormitory will be commissioned in accordance with established procedures.
