How much does Tajikistan import and produce medicines?

The Minister of Health of Tajikistan reported on the increase in the types and names of domestic medicines and their export abroad

In Tajikistan, the production of medicines increased simultaneously with imports.

This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Health of the Republic Jamoliddin Abdullozoda.

It is noted that for 6 months of 2023, 57 domestic enterprises produced 560 types and 320 types of medicines in the country.

Compared to the same period in 2022, the volumes increased by 4 pharmaceutical companies, 40 types and 12 types of medicines.

Thus, the total amount of manufactured medical goods amounted to $40 million.

According to the presented statistics, in the first half of the year, medicines worth $50.2 million were imported into the republic.

However, along with imports, Tajikistan also exported medicines.

According to the minister, the republic sold such goods in the amount of 6.5 million somoni in six months.

Russia has become one of the main exporters of medicines to Tajikistan

Earlier, the Customs Service of the country reported that in January-June 2023, medicines from more than 50 foreign countries were imported into Tajikistan.
