The Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan maintains a register of registered print publishing houses of the republic, which was published in the first half of 2023
In Tajikistan, as of July 2023, there are about 300 print publications that are actively operating.
This was reported in the Ministry of Culture of the Republic.
It is noted that among all categories the state mass media prevail.
For example, there are 165 newspaper publishers in the country, among which 66 position themselves as independent.
There are 149 registered journals in Tajikistan and only 28 are not state-owned.
However, the statistics on printing houses is the opposite: out of 105 registered - 89 are not guided by the policy of the state.
A similar situation exists with information agencies in the republic: out of 6 registered ones, 5 are independent.

Earlier, the Ministry of Culture reported on registered 34 newspapers, of which 22 are state-owned, and 26 out of 29 magazines are under the influence of the country's policy.
Also, according to earlier data provided by the ministry, there were 3 state-owned publishing houses and 3 independent news agencies in the country.
