An unusual incident occurred involving a 32-year-old hiker climbing a peak in Montana, USA. After slipping and falling, the hiker was impaled by a trekking pole that entered beneath his left armpit and exited through his lower back. Despite this, he hiked approximately 10 miles (16 kilometers) with his friends over the course of more than six hours. Upon reaching the base of the mountain, he was taken to a hospital, where doctors successfully removed the pole via surgery. Initial examinations indicated that the pole had not damaged his heart, lungs, or other vital internal organs. The hiker stated that once he recovers, he plans to return to the peak and complete the journey he had been unable to finish.
