Head of the landscaping department fined for making workers labor in extreme heat

The head of the Yakkasaray District Landscaping Department in Tashkent has been held administratively liable for requiring employees to work in extreme heat.

Earlier, the State Labor Inspectorate instructed all local administrations to suspend outdoor work from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. due to unusually high temperatures. Despite this directive, a video showing landscaping workers performing their duties in the scorching heat circulated on social media.

An inspection found that the workers had not been provided with working conditions that complied with occupational health and safety requirements. As a result, administrative measures were taken against the department head.

He may face a fine ranging from 2.06 million to 4.12 million Uzbek soums.
