Has Rabies Spread in Kashkadarya?

Reports claiming that three members of one family in Kitob district, Kashkadarya region, were diagnosed with rabies have been denied. The regional health department made the announcement. It was noted that a local resident born in 1979 was hospitalized on July 10 with suspected dangerous infectious disease. Epidemiological investigation revealed that about a month earlier he had been scratched by a fox cub. The patient died on July 11. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the cause of death. Additionally, three residents of the area underwent medical check‑ups as a precaution. Doctors confirmed that no clinical signs of rabies were found in them. They are currently under medical supervision and receiving preventive vaccination.
