Half-ton Soviet spacecraft may crash to Earth

According to the Uzcosmos agency, the Kosmos-482 spacecraft, launched by the Soviet Union in 1972, may re-enter the Earth's atmosphere on May 9-11, 2025. The probability of its crashing into Uzbekistan is estimated at 0.3%-0.5%.

The main structure will burn up in the atmosphere, but the 500 kg titanium capsule may reach the ground. There is a high probability that the parachute system will not work.

The population is advised not to touch any debris found, but to immediately notify the authorities.
