By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the regulation on the procedure for the education of women studying in colleges and technical schools in the fields of construction, transport, communal, agricultural and service professions (specialization) on the basis of a full state grant confirmed. State grants for girls' education in colleges and technical schools are allocated from the budget of the Republic. In this case, ministries and agencies with colleges and technical schools in their system work as distributors of budget funds. Girls admitted to college and technical institutes on a fee-contract basis apply to the director of the educational institution for a state grant by October 10. Applications are reviewed by colleges and technical schools within 3 working days and submitted to regional departments of higher education, science and innovation. Regional units review the aggregated data by October 15 every year and send it to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. Every year by October 20, the ministry submits the list of women who have applied for studies on the basis of a state grant to the ministries and agencies that have colleges and technical schools in its system. The ministries and agencies will apply to the Ministry of Economy and Finance by October 25 for the allocation of necessary funds for girls' education on the basis of a state grant. The Ministry of Economy and Finance will allocate the relevant funds to these ministries and agencies within 5 working days. Directors of colleges and technical schools are personally responsible for the purposeful and effective use of funds allocated from the state budget for women who receive education based on a state grant from the 2023/2024 academic year. The document was published in the national database of legal documents and entered into force on October 3, 2023. 193,421 applicants were recommended as students according to the results of the entrance tests for the undergraduate education courses of HEIs for the 2023/2024 academic year in Uzbekistan. According to the results of the test, 52% of the applicants recommended to the student were men, and 48% were women.
