Google is making AI-powered filmmaking more accessible

Google has launched the Flow Sessions program to introduce young filmmakers to the possibilities of artificial intelligence. During the six-week initiative, participants used the company's Flow AI video generation platform to create their own short films.

At the end of the program, 11 AI-assisted short films were screened at the Metrograph cinema in New York City. Throughout the project, participants also received hands-on guidance from experienced mentors.

According to Google, Flow simplifies complex technical aspects of filmmaking, enabling creators with little or no professional experience to bring their stories to the screen.

However, the role of AI in the film industry remains a subject of ongoing debate. Discussions continue over issues such as copyright and the impact of artificial intelligence on creative professionals.

Google says it views AI not as a replacement for filmmakers, but as a tool that helps creators turn their ideas into reality.
