Global initiatives of Tajikistan in the center of interest of Swiss glaciologists

The global initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to declare 2025 the "International Year for the Preservation of Glaciers" adopted at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, is currently attracting the attention of scientific and research circles in European countries, where scientists and glaciologists, taking into account the consequences of the rapid melting of glaciers think about joint cooperation in order to study this process. This topic was discussed on June 1, 2023 during the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin with scientists and glaciologists from well-known research institutes of the Swiss Confederation, who intend to conduct a comprehensive study of the processes and factors of glacier melting and the possible impact of these adverse events on the example of the glaciers of Tajikistan.
