Girl punished for hitting a man who harassed her on a bus acquitted in Namangan
Earlier, it was reported that a man touched a girl’s thigh and sexually harassed her on a bus. The girl responded by hitting him, and both parties were initially fined.
The Namangan Regional Court of Appeals reviewed the case and ruled that the girl’s actions constituted self-defense. As a result, her fine was cancelled and the case against her was dismissed.
At the same time, the court found the punishment imposed on the man to be excessively lenient and increased his sentence.
