On May 21, 2021, the baby, who was born with low birth weight, was placed in an incubator. On May 26, a nurse beat the baby while taking blood from him, squeezing and breaking his leg. A few days later, the baby's leg was swollen and weak, and an examination revealed a fracture. Security cameras confirmed the abuse, but the hospital management hid this from the parents and sent the child to another hospital. The parents were told that the child's disability was congenital. The nurse was fired. Three years later, in June 2024, the parents received a court notice. They later learned that their daughter's disability was not congenital, but the result of abuse. The family's lawyer described the incident as brutal torture rather than simple physical injury, arguing that the defendant's actions should be considered "attempted murder." The trial is ongoing.
