Protests against President Claudia Sheinbaum's security policies have escalated in Mexico. At least 120 people, including more than 100 police officers, were injured.

Protesters gathered near the National Palace and overturned some of the barriers. Police used tear gas to maintain order. Protesters are demanding that the president take firm action over Mayor Manso's death.
Sheinbaum said protests have also taken place in other cities and were funded by right-wing politicians opposed to the government.
