General killed in Moscow explosion

On December 17, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian Armed Forces, and his assistant were killed in an explosion in an apartment in Moscow.
According to witnesses, the explosion occurred when Kirillov was leaving his house. It is believed that an improvised explosive device was planted on a scooter parked near the house.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The Moscow prosecutor's office has taken control of the case.
