Stanford University scientists have developed a new gel that helps protect homes and infrastructure from forest fires. This gel has unique properties that allow it to retain moisture for a long time and effectively protect against fire. Previous gels could only withstand fire for 90 seconds and were useless within 45 minutes of use. The new gel can protect the building for up to 7 minutes.
