Funicular crash in Portugal: 17 people died

On September 3, the world-famous funicular “Gloria” derailed in Lisbon, Portugal.  Seventeen people were killed in the incident, with at least 21 injured. The funicular was initially said to have gone out of control due to the disconnection of the tros. An investigation and technical examination of the incident is underway.
September 4 in the country was declared a day of national mourning.
