Earlier, it was reported that the staff of ticket office operators was being reduced following the introduction of electronic payment systems and ticket vending machines in the Tashkent Metro.

Starting from December 9, ticket offices at all 14 stations of the “Above-Ground Ring Line,” as well as at the “Paxtakor” and “Alisher Navoi” stations, will cease operations. Modern infokiosks offering QR-code tickets have been put into operation in place of ticket offices.

According to the State Unitary Enterprise “Tashkent Metro,” ATMs will be installed at all stations by the end of the year, and the positions of ticket office operator and senior operator will be completely abolished. Free vocational training courses will be organized for employees who previously worked in the abolished positions.
