The agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and China on the visa-free regime will enter into force on November 10 of this year. Citizens of Kazakhstan and China have been exempted from visa requirements for private affairs, tourism, medical treatment, international transport, business purposes and transit since November 10. The period of stay in the common country should not exceed 90 calendar days in a 180-day period. In mid-April this year, it was reported that Kazakhstan intends to sign an agreement with China on a 30-day reciprocal visa-free regime. On May 18, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev signed an agreement during his official visit to China. He said that thanks to the one-month visa-free regime, Kazakhstan can become one of the most attractive destinations for Chinese tourists. The Kazakh people themselves reacted to this news ambiguously. Someone suggested that Kazakhstan will be "filled" with Chinese citizens in the near future. In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed them that the 30-day visa-free regime does not give Chinese citizens the right to live or work in Kazakhstan. It was made for tourists and Kazakh people who often visit China on business. "We expect an increase in the flow of tourists from China to Kazakhstan. At the same time, next year was announced as the year of Kazakhstan tourism in China. We encourage Kazakh tourists to visit your country," the president said.
