Tour operators who do not meet the requirements of the new norm, which will come into force on November 1, will not be given the right to organize Umrah events. In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the provision of services related to the organization and conduct of Umrah events to citizens is carried out only by a local tour operator. With this decision, relevant changes and additions will be implemented from November 1, 2023. Now, the following documents must be submitted for the implementation of Umrah activities by tour operators: In order to provide services for the organization and conduct of Umrah events, in addition, an educational institution in the fields of religious (Islamic) education or the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan "Religion", "Islamology", " Information on the availability of at least one specialist who is a graduate of Islamic history and source studies, "Pilgrimage tourism" and "Islamic law" educational fields (specialties); In the case of providing tourism services related to the organization and holding of Umrah events, the applicant for a license must submit funds equivalent to 100,000 US dollars to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan. It is necessary to independently obtain the information about the reservation to the following bank details opened for the Safe Tourism Fund of the Tourism Committee. For information, tour operators who do not meet the requirements of the new norm, which will come into force on November 1 of this year, will not be given the right to organize Umrah events.
