Four young men drowned in the Kattakurgan reservoir

When they were trying to take pictures on the boat, the boat overturned. On July 30, it was found that 4 young men drowned in Kattakorgan reservoir. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, 7 young men living in Chirakchi and Kokdala districts of Kashkadarya region went to Samarkand region - to celebrate the birthday of their acquaintance M.M., who lives in Polat neighborhood of Nurabad district. On this day, around 5:30 p.m., they went to the Kattakurgan reservoir passing through the neighborhood to bathe. They sailed about 40 meters away from the shore of the reservoir with the boat that was there. When they tried to take a picture, they lost their balance and the boat overturned due to erratic movements. As a result, 4 of them - 21, 25, 22 and 21-year-old young men - drowned, 3 of them managed to swim to the shore. During the rescue work, the body of one person, 21-year-old O.E., was found. Search and rescue operations are currently underway. Two of the deceased studied at a medical technical school in Kattakorgan district. In connection with the situation, the district prosecutor's office has started an investigation.
