Four Suns Appeared in the Sky Over Alaska

Four suns appeared in the sky over Alaska at the same time. This phenomenon is called a parhelion (also known as a “sun dog” or “false sun”). It occurs when sunlight is refracted by tiny ice crystals suspended in the air. As a result, several bright spots appear around the Sun, making it look as if the sky is lit by multiple suns at once.

A similar rare and very beautiful phenomenon may also be observed in Moscow and the Moscow region in the coming days, as temperatures there are expected to drop to −25°C over the weekend.
