Fortune teller scam in Kyrgyzstan: Woman loses $43,000

A woman in Kyrgyzstan buried $43,000 in a cemetery in an attempt to “pave the way” for her business on the advice of a fortune teller. It turned out that between May and October of this year, the fortune teller gained the woman’s trust through various “rituals,” obtained the money fraudulently, and then went into hiding.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident, and the 25-year-old fortune teller has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
