Former First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee Mubin Mirzayev sentenced to prison

The Shaykhantakhur District Court has announced its verdict in the criminal case involving Mubin Mirzayev, the former First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tax Committee, and eight other defendants.

The court found Mirzayev guilty of large-scale embezzlement of property, abuse of official authority, and offenses related to official misconduct through inaction.

Under the verdict, he was banned from holding certain positions for three years and sentenced to 8 years and 2 months in prison.

The remaining eight defendants were also found guilty under various criminal charges and received prison terms ranging from 4 to 9 years.

The court also ordered the recovery of the financial damages caused by the crimes.
