Foreign trade turnover in Tajikistan fell to a record high

The volume of goods imported into the republic significantly exceeds the volume of exports, foreign trade turnover indicators are so low for the first time in history

In the first half of 2023, Tajikistan recorded a record low foreign trade turnover.

This was announced during a press conference by the head of the Customs Service of the country Khurshed Karimzoda.

Thus, for six months, the indicator of foreign trade in Tajikistan amounted to $3.4 billion, which is $324.7 million, or 9% less than in the same period in 2022 ($3.7 billion).

At the same time, the volume of products imported into the republic significantly exceeds the volume of exports.

In particular, imports of goods amounted to $2.7 billion, which is $414.7 million or 18% more than in the first 6 months of 2022 ($2.3 million).

Exports amounted to $653.3 million, which is $739.4 million or 53% less than last year ($1.3 billion).
