For the first time, female drivers have started working in the Tashkent metro

For the first time, female drivers have started working in the Tashkent metro. Currently, they are working under the supervision of trainers, but soon they will work independently.
16 women were selected from among the employees of the Tashkent metro in the competition, who were trained for 11 months.

Sevara Eshmirzayeva: “When I was a child, I saw drivers in the metro and wondered if women would be hired for this job. But now everything has changed,” she says.

The Tashkent metro organized special courses to train female drivers. Candidates had to have a secondary specialized or higher education in a technical field, as well as be between 20 and 35 years old.
