For the first time, a kidney transplant was performed in the city of Zarafshan

​In a 5-hour operation, the left kidney of a 37-year-old brother was successfully transplanted into a 44-year-old brother.
In the city of Zarafshan, which is located about 200 km from the center of Navoi region, a complex surgical procedure - kidney transplantation was performed for the first time. This was reported to Kun.uz by the head of the press service of the city administration.

It was reported that a kidney transplant was performed at the city's medical association. The complex surgical operation was carried out in cooperation with the staff of the Transplantology Department of the Republican Emergency Medical Center and city doctors.

The left kidney of 37-year-old Zarifjon Isokov, a resident of the city, was transplanted into his brother, 44-year-old Salahiddin Isokov, in a 5-hour operation. The brothers are doing well now.

Earlier, an 11-year-old girl was transplanted with her mother's kidney during a 6-hour operation at the Children's National Medical Center.
