For a salary in Bishkek, you can buy 2.6 times less food than in Moscow

At the end of March, the lowest prices for lamb and butter among the capitals of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union were in Bishkek. Such data are provided by the National Statistical Committee.

According to him, all essential goods in March had the maximum average cost compared to the rest of the capitals of the EAEU states in Moscow.

In March, among the capitals of the countries of the association, the maximum average retail price for eggs ($1.32 per dozen) was noted in Bishkek, and the minimum retail price ($1.13) in Minsk.

The lowest cost of lamb ($5.98) in March was registered in Bishkek, beef ($4.84) and pasteurized milk ($0.64) in Minsk. The minimum price for butter ($5.04) was recorded in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

A comparative analysis of the purchasing power of the average monthly wage in the capitals of the EAEU states indicates that the average salary can be bought the least in Bishkek. This is due to the low average salary.

For example, in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, you can buy almost 660 kilograms of flour for an average wage, while in Moscow it is 2.4 times more (1,580.1 kilograms). In Astana, you can buy 3 tons of potatoes for one salary, and in Bishkek - more than 900 kilograms.

For Bishkek wages, you can buy 2.6 times less food than for Moscow. The biggest gap is in the ability to buy eggs (almost four times), and the smallest is in the purchase of butter (1.3 times).
