First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva celebrates her birthday

Today's date is another reason to celebrate all the merits of the outstanding daughter of the Azerbaijani people, Mehriban Aliyeva.
Prominent Azerbaijani state, political and public figure, First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation - Mehriban Aliyeva celebrates her birthday on August 26.
She was born in the city of Baku. In 1981, after graduating with a gold medal from the capital's secondary school number 23, she entered the medical and preventive faculty of the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after Nariman Narimanov.

In 1988 she graduated with honors from the First Moscow State Medical Institute named after Sechenov, then she completed a clinical residency in the specialty "Eye Diseases". In the period 1988-1992 she worked in Moscow at the Research Institute of Eye Diseases.
All her life Mehriban Aliyeva worked for the benefit of her homeland. With each subsequent year, Aliyeva set herself the goal of increasing the development of the republic.

So, in 1995, she established the Azerbaijan Cultural Foundation, which she heads to this day. Then, under her leadership, the magazine "Azerbaijan-Irs" began to be published in three languages, promoting the culture of the country. In October 2002, she was elected president of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.
Two years later, Mehriban Aliyeva simultaneously headed the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, created to study the rich political heritage of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people and promote his ideas of national statehood.

In the same 2004, she was awarded the honorary title of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for her merits in the preservation and development of oral folk literature and the national musical heritage of Azerbaijan.
Also, at the IV General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, she was elected a member of the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee.

The importance of its role in the political life of the country is indisputable. Mehriban Aliyeva is a member of the Political Council, deputy chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, was elected three times as a deputy in the Milli Majlis of the third, fourth and fifth convocations. In February 2017, she was appointed First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
