The first surgical operation was performed in the town of Khankendi, located in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, which was liberated from the Armenian occupation.
Azerbaijani doctors performed the operation in a medical facility in the city, the Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Divisions (TABIB) reported.
Atatürk Taghizade, a police officer, came to the clinic with complaints of acute abdominal pain, nausea and malaise.
He was diagnosed with acute appendicitis, the doctors decided to immediately operate on the policeman.
The operation for appendectomy (removal of the appendix - ed.) was successful, the patient has already been discharged home for outpatient treatment.
According to the ministry, he was operated on by surgeon Veli Khalilov, assisted by anesthesiologist-resuscitator Ramina Ahmadova, as well as nurses Aynur Mustafayeva, Gulsum Hasanova and nurse Arzuman Mammadov.
